Mathew Williams

Lawyer

Mathew graduated from the University of Tasmania in 2018 with a combined degree in Business and Law with honours in Law. 

Mathew also obtained his Graduate Certificate of Legal Practice in 2018 and was admitted as a practitioner of the Supreme Court of Tasmania. Following admission, Mathew commenced employment with a Hobart firm with a focus on insurance-related litigation matters. 

Mathew commenced his employment with Douglas & Collins in 2021 practicing in civil and criminal litigation. He also works alongside Rohan Foon who is a principal of Douglas and Collins, providing support on complex matters. Mathew aspires to become a leading litigator and is excited about the prospect of developing his litigation practice at Douglas and Collins. 

Mathew grew up in Launceston and is enjoying being back in the North. Outside of work Mathew umpires football in the NTFA, runs around after his Husky ‘Luna’ and has a keen interest in Australian politics. 

Mathew has previously been a member of the Tasmanian University Law Society; Student Legal Service; Community Engagement Tasmania Society; Golden Key International Honour Society; Tasmanian State Under-18 Touch Football team and AFL Junior Umpire Academy.
