Geoff Arnott

Geoff graduated from the University of Tasmania in 1981 and was admitted as a Practitioner of the Supreme Court of Tasmania in April 1983.
After graduating, Geoff commenced his career with Brown Ware & Hay in Hobart, but the opportunity soon arose to return to Launceston to join Douglas & Collins. He became a partner of the firm in January 1987.
Geoff has a general commercial practice, which involves the following work:
- Business/property sales and acquisitions;
- Business structuring and asset protection, business succession planning;
- Property development and subdivisions;
- Preparing Wills and advising on estate planning issues; and
- Leases and other commercial/business matters.
Geoff is a past Chairman of the Taxation Institute (Tasmanian Division), a former National Councillor of the Institute and was a member of the state council for many years. He delivered training in Contract Law and Property Law for the Real Estate Institute of Tasmania for just under 20 years, was a council member of the Law Society of Tasmania, a board member of Residential Services for the Intellectually Disabled Inc., a former council member of the Tasmanian Division of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and a former Director of the Clifford Craig Foundation.
Geoff is a current board member of the Greens Beach Golf Club Inc.
