Simon graduated from the University of Tasmania with a Bachelor of Laws in 2006. He completed the practical legal training course and was admitted to the Supreme Court of Tasmania in August 2008. In 2017, Simon graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Graduate Diploma in Employment and Labour Relations Law.

In September 2021, Simon started working at Douglas & Collins in the areas of commercial law, property law, estates and employment & industrial law. Prior to Douglas & Collins, Simon worked in-house for a large Tasmanian not-for-profit community services organisation. Simon also worked for another well- established Launceston law firm after being admitted to practise.

Outside work, Simon enjoys cycling, SCUBA diving and spending time with his young family.
